DESHOT DEVELOPMENT IS BACK!

I have finally been able to begin work on DEShot!

For the longest time this project has been stuck in limbo, There was a lot of errors and bugs when I upgraded to Unreal 5.1 from 5.0 and stuff broke so I left it for months until finally coming back to it now on unreal 5.3, This required a lot of work to fix all the broken code and I ended up recoding quite a few things but on the upside it makes things a lot more modular, Patch notes don't seem like much but the game should play smoother with less bugs than the previous version. Keep in mind this is Pre-Pre-Pre alpha So at the moment I'm more concerned about getting the gameplay loop sorted so some things will be missing, Most notably reload sounds. I haven't gotten around to it yet but I will soon!

Here is the patch notes :


- Redesigned main menu a little, Still temporary though!

- On death have the option to return to menu or restart the match

- Massively overhauled certain aspects of the code most notably the weapon system

- Gunomatic now doesn't force you to take the gun that it gives, You can now choose to grab the gun you get from the machine within a 5 second window, After that the gun dissappears and you can use the machine again.

- Added temporary perk icons to the HUD

- Adjusted base and sprint move speeds

-- Base move speed lowered

-- Base sprint speed highered

-- Speed-Demon sprint speed highered

- Began work on editing the town maps layout to flow better some of these changes are included in this updated build

- Sensitivity slider now reflects actual sensitivity

- Fixed an animation bug regarding sprinting and shooting at the same time

- The HUD is undergoing some changes, Currently we do not have a dynamic crosshair, This has been replaced with a static one for the moment

- Fixed numerous bugs regarding weapons and interactions

- Implemented "Hold Interact Type" Now you can hold E to repair barricades

- Fixed camera not moving down correctly when crouching

- Tweaked the wave system so round "cooldown" is 50% faster as at it's old setting it took way too long for the round to change

- Tweaked min spawn time for zombies (Zombies should spawn a lot quicker when another zombie dies if the max zombies spawned in for that round is reached)

- Fixed zombie pathfinding so they should no longer get stuck upstairs on the DevTown Map

- Perk locations have been shuffled around

- Weapon buy locations have also been huffled around

- Added "Ammo Crates" At the moment these are the Grey boxes scattered around the map allowing you to purchase ammo for your currently equipped weapon for $950 points

- Fixed an out of bounds glitch on the DevTown map

- Tweaked recoil settings

- Tweaked fog on DevTown map to be less 'foggy'

- Zombies are still running in "low frame mode" This will be changed in the upcoming update, So at the moment zombies lod's will be lower and the animation framerate will be lower aswell.

Controls

WASD - Move

Left Mouse - Shoot

Right Mouse - Aim

left ctrl - Crouch / Slide when sprinting into a crouch

Left Shift - Sprint

V - Melee

E - Interact

ESC - Pause


Perk Descriptions

Macho-Man - Grants 100 extra hp.

Too Young To Die! - On a hit that would have killed you, your health gets set to 1 and you release a "shockwave" That kills all zombies around you, Lose all perks when activated

Speed Demon - You can run quicker and reload quicker [Reloading quicker not yet implemented]

Deep Pockets - Grants a 2x boost to reserve ammo for all guns
